TNEA 2017 : What is Anna University Rank List in TNEA Counselling or Anna University Counselling?
Rank List is published after Random number.Rank list is published before counselling to rank the students who have applied for the Anna University counselling. Only eligible candidates based on the applications will be considered. The rank will be decided as following
1. Engineering Cutoff : First candidates with high Engineering Cutoff or aggregate marks will be ranked first.
2. Maths Mark : If 2 candidates are with same engineering cutoff, then the candidate with more marks in Maths will be given preference and ranked higher.
3. Physics Mark : If 2 candidates happened to possess same engineering cutoff and maths marks, marks they obtained in Physics is considered. And person with high marks in physics is ranked high.
4. Chemistry Mark : If 2 candidates have same engineering cutoff, maths mark and physics marks, then they are ranked based on the chemistry marks.
5. Biology / Computer Science Marks : If 2 candidates have same marks in all the above, now they decide based on their 4th subject marks.
6. Date of Birth : If 2 students have same marks in all the 4 subjects and also same engineering cutoff, Whoever was born first among the two gets higher rank.
7. Random Number : If 2 candidates have same engineering cutoff, maths mark, physics marks, chemistry and 4th subject marks and date of birth then they are ranked based on the random number.

How Rank List is assigned in Anna University Counselling?
Two types of Rank List
1. Open/General Rank ListIn this rank list, students are ranked without consideration of community. This is for the selection of seats in general category in the single window counselling.
2. Community Rank List
In this rank list, students from a particular community are ranked among each other. This rank list is for the selection of engineering college seats that are allotted for a particular community like BC, MBC, SC and ST.

What is Cutoff marks in TNEA Counselling or Anna University Counselling?
The minimum required percentile for admissions will be termed as the cutoff of TNEA 2017. All of the applicants will have to meet this cutoff to be eligible for admissions. Inability to meet the cutoff will result in the disqualification of the applicant from the admission procedure. The cutoff will be determined by evaluating many factors such as the last year’s cutoff, number of applicant’s who have applied for admission, average marks and more.
